tabgraphics works summer 11 (from C80)
So it's not entirely CDs, although the artbook from this is mostly just a beefed up CD booklet with a few extra pages.
I'm not sure what this is meant to be. |
Hiroyuki Oda presents HSP - レトロフューチャーオッサンディスコ (Retro Future Ossan Disco)
Although I'm a big fan of Kanzaki Hiro's art style, the main reason I bought the artbook above was for the included CD. It's not really an album as it only has five tracks, two of them being remixes.
Two of the tracks - Wander Girl and Maybe☆Lucky - had previously been released on NND, while Happy Twinkling Night is only on this CD.
8#Prince - the ripper
Some more really catchy tunes here. I got into 8#Prince with tracks like Distorted Princess, Sweet Devil and エレクトリック・ラブ, and this album continues on in much the same vein. Some of the lyrics are pretty lewd though. KiLLER LADY and candii would be my favourite tracks, but they're all pretty solid. The remixes at the end aren't bad either.
Hiroyuki ODA - Thirty
Why do all these CDs have English names? This one isn't actually Vocaloid, despite appearances. It's by the same guy as the artbook and the Retro Future CD above, but this release is a trance album without any vocals. It's great music to listen to while concentrating on something, be it a game or study. It's got a good beat, but there's a fair bit of repetition and it doesn't distract your focus. I realise that sentence made it seem boring, but that's not what I'm trying to say. My favourite tracks would be Thirty and Luminescence.
And the rest of my CDs will arrive in a couple of weeks.
My hipster Miku just arrived today, so I'm going to go unbox her (I might take some photos for a review, depends how lazy I'm feeling) and then think long and hard about whether I can afford that Love is War figure with the massive base.
I love the artwork on these albums. I'll be sure to check out the music as well.
ReplyDelete>think long and hard about whether I can afford that Love is War figure with the massive base.
It seems like a lot of people are having the same problem.
aaaah such cute covers *_* I really like the ripper cover. Does your CD's Distorted Princess have a random radio news guy talking through it? haha
ReplyDeleteThe Love is War figure is casing quite a stir! Can't wait for your pics of Hipster Miku, if you're not too lazy :3
I tend to like it when it has English names because it sticks in my mind easier.
ReplyDeleteI ended up ordering Miku with big base. I was a bit indecisive because Azone's Remilia comes out in January too, but then I realized that it would probably be the same price as Miku...so Miku it is~
Where can I order this from?
ReplyDeleteI got the tabgraphics stuff off Melonbooks, and they still have copies, but the site is in Japanese and won't ship abroad so I used Yokatta as a proxy service to buy it and send it to me.
ReplyDeleteThe other CDs I bought off CDJapan.
Thank you so much!!! I contacted that website and sent them the Melonbooks link, and they replied within 3 minutes. I can't wait to get my hands on that tabgraphics album art! It's by the same guy that did the oreimo character designs and novel illustrations, right?
ReplyDeleteAgain, THANK YOU!!!
Yep it's the same guy, he has a very distinctive style.
ReplyDeleteGlad I could help.
