Saki S2

So I wasn't planning on posting anything today since I still don't have my damn figs (you'd think it was Australia post on strike) but I just read that Saki is getting a second season. Fuck yes, I love me some yuri-fuelled mahjong with superpowers.

Unfortunately there's no indication of when it'll air; hopefully it won't take too long.

In celebration of this news, have some WAI WAI.

Presumably it's taken this long to get the funding to properly animate Nodoka's breasts.

Having not read the manga at all, I don't know where the plot will go. One thing's for sure though - it took all of the first season for Saki and Nodoka to hold hands, so it'll probably be pretty slow going on that front.

Absolutely nothing

I haven't posted anything in a few days, but there really hasn't been much happening. I've been on break most of the week, which of course means I spent my time sitting at my computer watching those girl cartoons and playing those silly games. A pretty good week if you ask me.

LoL < DotA, prove me wrong

I got back into League of Legends today. Although, "got back into" may be stretching the truth a little, because it's not like I was ever big on it in the first place. I played DotA a lot though, I got into it around 2004 and only stopped playing last year. There's a limit to how many first blood leavers a man can handle - turns out my limit was pretty damn high, but I got there in the end.

Tangentially DotA-related. Hit level 6? Someone's going to die.

I don't really have much to post about, so here are some photos of the kitten one of my housemates just bought.

I finished Remember11 yesterday, and can't help but feel a little let down by the ending. I thought the VN was pretty good overall, and definitely had better pacing than Ever17 (as well as less chicken sandwiches), but it really felt like they got half way through writing the epilogue and thought "fuck it, let's just release". I went seeking some explanation from Google and got led to a TLwiki discussion page that made very little sense to me since I hadn't got the particular bad end and read all the relevant tips that are apparently vitally important to understanding everything. I'm not sure if I'll go back and try get 100% or if I'll just move on to something else, I'll give it a few days and see what I feel like then.

I've still got quite a backlog though, with Sekien no Inganock and Symphonic Rain being two I've been meaning to read for quite a while now. I'd love to read Umineko 8, but that'll still be a while.

I still haven't really decided what anime I'll be watching this season. I've got the first episodes for Hanasaku Iroha and Nichijou sitting on my hard drive but I've been neglecting them for House of all things. I watched the first episode of Steins;Gate but it's still too early for me to really tell what that's going to turn out like.

And just in case this post wasn't already fragmented enough, I just heard that there's a site hinting at an upcoming Persona 4 anime, with a countdown to midnight tomorrow night (April 11). I never actually finished Persona 4 since my PS2 emulator deleted my half-complete save file and I can't bring myself to start it again, so I'd be pretty interested in an anime adaption.

EDIT: it looks like (from what I can make out from some moonblogs linked to on /a/) the anime will be done by Shaft. Fuck yeah. I'm unashamedly somewhat of a Shaft fanboy, but I really think they'll be a good choice for this.

Procrastination/General

First off, a request. If you buy figures from sites other than HLJ and get them shipped via EMS, could you give me an example or two of a figure, the store you got it from and the shipping cost? I'm working on a sort of data-based review of some of the biggest figure sites and I just need a few more numbers than I can get from my own records, considering I mostly use SAL.

So anyway, I'm falling further behind with my study despite it only being the fifth week or so of the uni year. Every semester I decide that this time I'll study regularly instead of leaving it to the study week before exams, but it's yet to happen. I was going to go over some lectures this arvo and maybe start on an assignment but seeing as it's bloody 35 degrees hot here and my fan's broken, fuck it, I'm going to blog about the anime I'm watching this season instead. A bit behind the times I know, but I've just caught up on my backlog (turns out I'm quite capable of procrastinating on watching anime too).
